Getting There

  • Tram

    From the city center, head to the nearest tram stop, which could be 'Bismarckstraße' or 'Zähringer Straße'. Take tram line 3 towards 'Wagenburg' or 'Günterstal'. Stay on the tram for about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Rieselfeld' stop. From there, walk towards the northwest for about 10 minutes until you reach the Alsace region.

  • Bus

    Start from the Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Take bus line 33 towards 'Freiburg Zähringerstraße'. After approximately 20 minutes, get off at 'Zähringerstraße'. From the bus stop, head southeast along Zähringerstraße and follow the signs towards the Alsace region, which is about a 15-minute walk.

  • Walking

    If you're in the city center, you can walk to Elsass in about 45 minutes. Start from the Freiburg Cathedral, head east on Münsterplatz, then continue onto Kaiserstraße. Follow the path towards the south, crossing the bridge over the Dreisam river. Once across, turn left and follow the riverbank path towards Alsace.

  • Bike

    Rent a bike from one of the many bike rental stations in Freiburg. Start from the city center and head towards the Dreisam river. Follow the bike path along the river heading north. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the border to the Alsace region. Ensure you have a map or a GPS device to navigate the local bike paths.
