From Hannover Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), take tram lines 1 or 2 towards Haltenhoffstraße or Alte Heide, respectively. Get off at the Vahrenwalder Platz stop, which is a short walk from the Kanalweg. A single ticket within Hanover costs approximately €2.70. Alternatively, a day ticket costs €5.40 and allows unlimited travel within the city zone.
Walking
If you are already in the Vahrenwald-List area, the Kanalweg is easily reachable on foot. From Vahrenwalder Platz, walk north along Vahrenwalder Straße, then turn onto one of the side streets that intersect with the Kanalweg. Look for signs indicating the path. The walk from Vahrenwalder Platz is approximately 5-10 minutes.
