Walking
If you are in the Old Town (Altstadt) area, start by heading towards the Neckar River. Walk along the Hauptstraße (Main Street) towards the east until you reach the Neckar riverbank. Once you are at the river, turn left and walk along the riverbank path (Neckarstraße). Continue walking for approximately 10 minutes. You will see the Old Bridge (Alte Brücke) ahead. As you approach the bridge, you will notice a small sculpture on the left side of the bridge entrance. This is the Brückenaffe, or 'Bridge Monkey'.

If you are further away from the Old Town, you can take the tram. Board tram line 5 or 24 at Bismarckplatz (the main tram hub) and get off at the stop 'Heidelberg Altstadt'.
