Walking
If you are starting from Heidelberg's main train station (Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head towards the main street, Bismarckstraße. Walk straight along Bismarckstraße for about 15 minutes until you reach the intersection with Grabengasse. Turn left onto Grabengasse, and continue walking until you reach the Philosophenweg (Philosopher's Way). Follow the signs leading you to the Heidelberg Castle, and soon you will find yourself at the entrance of Schlossgarten.

Public Transport
From Heidelberg's main train station (Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof), board the tram number 5 heading towards 'Heidelberg, Ziegelhausen'. Ride the tram for 3 stops and get off at 'Heidelberg, Schloß'. Once you exit the tram, follow the signs for Schlossgarten. You should see the beautiful gardens leading up to the castle.
