Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Heidelberg's main train station (Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and walk south towards the main road, B37. Cross the road and continue straight on Plöck for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Grabengasse. Turn right onto Grabengasse and continue uphill. This will take you to the Old Town (Altstadt) area. Once you are in the Old Town, follow the signs towards 'Schloss.' You will come to a steep path leading up to the castle. This is the main route to Schlossgarten. The garden is located behind the Heidelberg Castle, and you can enter through the castle grounds. The walk takes approximately 30-40 minutes.

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From the main train station (Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof), take bus number 33 or 34 in the direction of 'Heidelberg Schloß.' The bus ride is only about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Schloß' stop, which is right by the entrance to Heidelberg Castle. From there, you can follow the signs to Schlossgarten, which is adjacent to the castle. The garden is easily accessible from the castle grounds.
