Trains to Karlsruhe run frequently, so check the schedule for the next departure. Once on the train, enjoy the scenic ride that lasts approximately 20-30 minutes. Upon arrival at Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof, exit the train.

From Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof, follow the signs to the tram station located just outside the train station. Take Tram Line 2 towards 'Rüti' or Tram Line 4 towards 'Rüti.' Get off at the 'Durlacher Tor' stop, which is about a 10-minute ride. From here, transfer to Tram Line 6 towards 'Mühlburg,' and get off at the 'Zoo' stop. The zoo entrance is a short walk from the tram stop.

After getting off at the 'Zoo' tram stop, head towards the entrance of the Zoological Gardens Karlsruhe, which is located at Ettlinger Str. 6, 76137 Karlsruhe. The entrance is easily recognizable, and you can follow the signs leading to the zoo. The entire journey from Heidelberg to the zoo should take around 1 hour, depending on the waiting times for trains and trams.
