Public Transport
From Luxembourg City, take a train to Ettelbruck. From Ettelbruck, take bus 180, 181, 182 or 188 to Vianden, Place Engelmann. From the bus stop, it's approximately a 2-minute walk uphill to the castle entrance. The bus journey from Ettelbruck to Vianden takes approximately 35 minutes. A single bus fare is around €3, but public transport is free in Luxembourg.

Driving
From Luxembourg City, take the A7 motorway north towards Ettelbruck, then follow signs to Vianden. Once in Vianden, follow the signs to Parking Château de Vianden, located near the castle entrance. Parking fees at the Château de Vianden parking are approximately €1 per hour for the first three hours, then €0.50 for the 4th and 5th hour. Parking is limited, especially during peak season.

Walking
From the center of Vianden (e.g., Rue de la Gare), walk towards Avenue de la Liberté, following signs for Parking Château de Vianden. Continue uphill along Montée du Château to reach the castle entrance. The walk is steep and takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Alternatively, from the bus stop at Place Engelmann, follow the signs uphill towards the castle (approx. 2 minutes).

Cable Car
From Vianden town, follow signs to the Vianden Chairlift (open April to mid-October). Take the chairlift up to the hilltop near the castle. From the top of the chairlift, it's a short walk to the castle entrance. A return ticket on the chairlift costs approximately €9 for adults.
