The Botanical Garden is easily accessible via public transport. From Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (main station), take tram line 16 towards Lößnig or line 2 towards Meusdorf. Get off at the Johannisallee stop, which is a short walk from the garden entrance. Alternatively, take tram line 15 to the Ostplatz stop, about 500m from the garden.
