The castle is located on a hill, so prepare for a steep ascent. There is a parking area available at the base of the castle, but note that parking may incur a fee.
Train and Bus
For public transportation, take a regional train (RE) to Bingen am Rhein from major cities like Düsseldorf or Cologne. Once you arrive at Bingen, transfer to bus line 661 towards Trechtingshausen. The bus will take you to the nearest stop, which is a short walk from the castle. Alternatively, from the train station, you can enjoy a scenic 30-minute walk along the Rhine River to the castle.
Walking
If you are already in Trechtingshausen, you can walk to Burg Rheinstein. From the village center, follow the signs leading up the hill. The path is well-marked but can be steep, so wear comfortable shoes. It should take about 20-30 minutes to reach the castle from the center of town.
