U-Bahn
If you're near the city center, the best way to reach the Deutsches Museum is by taking the U-Bahn (subway). Head to the nearest U-Bahn station, which is 'Sendlinger Tor' or 'Marienplatz'. From 'Sendlinger Tor', take the U2 line towards 'Messestadt Süd'. Change at 'Sendlinger Tor' to U1 towards 'Mangfallplatz'. Get off at 'Isartor' station. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to 'Deutsches Museum'. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the station. Head southeast on Talstraße, then continue onto Widenmayerstraße, and cross the bridge to reach Museumsinsel, where the museum is located.

Tram
You can also take the tram to reach the Deutsches Museum. Go to the nearest tram stop; one of the major stops is 'Karlsplatz (Stachus)'. From there, take tram line 17 towards 'Berg am Laim'. Get off at the 'Gasteig' stop. After exiting the tram, walk northeast along the Isar River. Cross the bridge to reach the Museumsinsel, where the Deutsches Museum is located. The walk will take around 10-15 minutes.

Bus
Another option is to take the bus. Find the nearest bus stop, and catch bus line 52 or 62 towards 'Wittelsbacher Brücke'. Get off at the 'Deutsches Museum' stop. The museum will be just a short walk from the bus stop. Follow the signs that direct you to the museum entrance located on Museumsinsel.

Walking
If you are staying nearby, walking to the Deutsches Museum is a great option. From the city center, head towards the Isar River. You can walk along the riverbanks for a scenic route. Once you reach the bridge (Wittelsbacher Brücke), cross over, and you will see the museum directly ahead on the Museumsinsel. The walk is enjoyable and takes approximately 20 minutes from Marienplatz.
