Public Transport
If you are in central Munich, head to the nearest U-Bahn (subway) station. Take the U2 line (the blue line) towards Messestadt Ost, or the U5 line (the purple line) towards Neuperlach South, and get off at 'Sendlinger Tor' station. From there, transfer to the U1 line (the dark blue line) towards Mangfallplatz. Alight at 'Isartor' station. Upon exiting the station, walk straight for approximately 10 minutes, crossing the Isar river. You will arrive at Museumsinsel 1, where the Deutsches Museum is located.
Tram
If you are near the Sendlinger Tor area, you can take Tram Line 16 or 17 from Sendlinger Tor tram stop. Get off at the 'Deutsches Museum' stop which is very close to the museum entrance. The museum is located just a short walk away on Museumsinsel 1.
Walking
If you are near Marienplatz, start walking towards the Isartor gate. Head southeast along the Talstraße, then turn left onto the Klauwaldstraße. Continue straight until you reach the Isar river. Cross the bridge, and follow the path that leads you to Museumsinsel 1. The Deutsches Museum will be right in front of you.
Bus
From the Hauptbahnhof (main train station), you can take Bus Line 132 towards 'Pasing Bf'. Get off at 'Deutsches Museum' bus stop. From there, it is just a short walk to the entrance located at Museumsinsel 1.
