Getting There

  • Public Transport - U-Bahn

    If you're starting from the city center, make your way to the nearest U-Bahn station, such as Marienplatz. Board the U2 line heading towards Messestadt Ost. After about 10 minutes, get off at the stop called 'Theresienwiese'. Transfer to the U5 line towards Neuperlach Süd. Travel for 4 stops and get off at 'Tierpark'. From the Tierpark station, it’s a short walk to Hellabrunn Zoo. Just exit the station, walk straight along the Tierparkstraße for about 10 minutes, and you will reach the zoo entrance at Tierparkstraße 30.

  • Public Transport - Tram and Bus

    Another option is to take Tram Line 16 from the central area (e.g., from Sendlinger Tor). Ride the tram towards 'Romanplatz' and get off at 'Giesing'. From there, you can catch Bus 52 towards 'Taufkirchen (Vils)'. Get off at 'Kaiserstraße'. The zoo is a short walk from the bus stop. Simply head south on Tierparkstraße for about 15 minutes, and you'll arrive at Hellabrunn Zoo.

  • Walking

    If you are close to the zoo, you can also walk there! From the city center, head south towards Isar River. Follow the riverside path southwards until you reach the Tierparkstraße. Turn left onto Tierparkstraße and continue walking for approximately 20 minutes until you reach Hellabrunn Zoo at Tierparkstraße 30.
