    If you are starting from Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head towards the main street, Bahnhofsplatz. From there, take tram line 19 in the direction of 'Pasing' and get off at the 'Sendlinger Tor' stop. After exiting the tram, walk straight towards the Sendlinger Tor, then take a left onto Sendlinger Str. Continue walking until you reach Neuhauser Str., where you will find Karlstor, a historic gate located at the beginning of the pedestrian shopping street.

    If you are near Marienplatz, walk towards the north side of the square where you will see the New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus). From the square, head straight along Kaufinger Strasse, a pedestrian shopping street. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes, and you will arrive at Karlstor, which is located at the western end of Kaufinger Strasse, just before you reach Neuhauser Str.

  • U-Bahn (Subway)

    From any U-Bahn station in the city, make your way to the Marienplatz station (U2 or U8 lines). Once you exit the station, head towards the exit that leads to the Marienplatz square. Walk straight from the square along Kaufinger Strasse for about 10 minutes. Karlstor will be on your right-hand side as you approach the end of Kaufinger Strasse.

    If you are near the 'Stachus' (Karlsplatz) bus stop, take bus line 100 or 153. Get off at 'Karlsplatz'. From there, walk straight along Neuhauser Str., and you will soon reach Karlstor, which is a short distance ahead at the intersection with Kaufinger Strasse.
