Walking
If you are in the heart of Altstadt, make your way to the Hauptmarkt, a central square. From there, head southeast along the St. Lorenz church, which will be on your left. Continue straight along the street until you reach the large intersection at Bäckergasse. Turn right here and follow the street as it bends slightly to the left. You will soon see Frauentor ahead, a historic gate that was once a main entrance to the city.

From any location in Altstadt, walk to the nearest tram stop, such as 'Jakobskirche' or 'Hauptbahnhof'. Take tram line 4 or 6 towards 'Tullnstraße' or 'Ziegelstein'. Disembark at 'Plärrer' station. From there, it's a short walk: exit the station, walk straight and take the first left onto 'Bergstraße'. Continue straight until you reach Frauentor. Note that a single tram ticket costs about €3.
