Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from Nuremberg's main train station (Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head southwest on Bahnhofstraße. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Königstraße. Turn left onto Königstraße and walk for about 10 minutes. You will pass various shops and cafes. Once you reach the end of Königstraße, cross the street towards the Hauptmarkt, which is a large square. From there, you will see the beautiful St. Lorenz Church. Continue walking towards the left side of the square, then take the small passage leading to Rathausplatz. The Altes Rathaus is located at Rathauspl. 2, right at the end of the square.

Tram
From Nuremberg's main train station (Hauptbahnhof), you can take the tram line 8 or 9. Board the tram and travel towards the 'Doku-Zentrum' (Documentation Center). Get off at the 'Lorenzkirche' stop. After disembarking, walk east towards the Hauptmarkt, which is a large square. You will see the Altes Rathaus just a short walk away at Rathauspl. 2, right off the square.

Bus
You can take bus line 36 from the main train station (Hauptbahnhof). Board the bus and ride for about 5 stops until you reach 'Plärrer'. At Plärrer, transfer to tram line 2 or 4 heading towards 'Ziegelstein' or 'Hauptbahnhof'. Get off at the 'Lorenzkirche' stop. From there, walk east towards the Hauptmarkt, which is a large square, and you will find Altes Rathaus at Rathauspl. 2.
