If you are near the central train station (Hauptbahnhof), head to the tram stop located just outside the station. Take tram line 6 or 9 towards 'Röthenbach' or 'Gostenhof'. Ride for 3 stops and get off at 'Plärrer'. From Plärrer, transfer to tram line 4 towards 'Thon' and ride for 2 stops until you reach 'Burgstraße'. From the tram stop, walk straight on Burgstraße, which will lead you to Luitpoldstraße. Turn right onto Luitpoldstraße, and the New Museum - Nuremberg State Museum of Art and Design will be on your right at Luitpoldstraße 5.

From the main market square (Hauptmarkt) in Nuremberg, walk to the nearby bus stop 'Hauptmarkt'. Take bus line 36 towards 'Röthenbach' and ride for 4 stops. Get off at 'Burgstraße' bus stop. From there, walk straight ahead on Burgstraße, which will lead you to Luitpoldstraße. Turn right onto Luitpoldstraße, and you will find the New Museum - Nuremberg State Museum of Art and Design at Luitpoldstraße 5.

If you are staying in the old town area, the New Museum is within walking distance. Start from the Hauptmarkt and head towards the Frauenkirche. Continue walking towards the south and cross the street towards the Lorenzkirche. Keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with Luitpoldstraße. Turn left onto Luitpoldstraße and walk straight for about 10 minutes. The New Museum - Nuremberg State Museum of Art and Design will be on your left at Luitpoldstraße 5.
