If you're driving from anywhere in the Palatinate region, take the A650 motorway towards Heidelberg. Once you approach Heidelberg, follow signs for the B37 towards the city center. Continue on B37 until you reach the Alte Brücke (Old Bridge) which is well-signposted. There are several parking options nearby, including public parking facilities where fees typically range from €1 to €2 per hour.
Train
For those using public transportation, take a regional train (S-Bahn or RE) to Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (main station). From the station, exit and head to the bus station located outside. Take bus line 33 towards 'Heidelberg Bismarckplatz', which will take you directly to the city center. From Bismarckplatz, it’s a short 10-minute walk to the Alte Brücke. Follow the signs towards the Old Bridge, passing through the charming streets of Heidelberg.
Tram
Another public transport option is to take a tram from various points in Heidelberg to the Bismarckplatz stop. Trams are frequent and provide a comfortable ride. Once at Bismarckplatz, walk towards the Alte Brücke; it should take you about 10 minutes on foot.
Bus
If you're in the surrounding areas, use regional buses to reach Heidelberg. Most buses will terminate at the Heidelberg central bus station. From there, follow the same instructions as for the train by taking bus line 33 or walking to Bismarckplatz and then to the Alte Brücke.
