From Potsdam, head to Potsdam Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station). You can take a regional train (RE1) towards Brandenburg Hbf. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Disembark at Berlin Hauptbahnhof. From there, take the S-Bahn line S3, S5, S7, or S9 towards Erkner, Ahrensfelde, or Spandau. Get off at the stop 'Potsdamer Platz'. From Potsdamer Platz, walk approximately 10 minutes to reach Matthäikirchplatz, where the Gemäldegalerie is located.

Walking
If you are already in the city center of Potsdam, you can walk to the nearest bus stop, 'Potsdam, Nauen', and take bus line 605 towards Berlin. After about 45 minutes, get off at 'Potsdam Platz'. From there, it's a 15-minute walk to Matthäikirchplatz. Head northwest on Potsdamer Strasse, then turn left onto Matthäikirchplatz, and you will find the Gemäldegalerie directly ahead.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Potsdam and follow the bike paths towards Berlin. The route is approximately 30 km and will take around 1-1.5 hours. Follow the signs towards Berlin, and once you arrive at the city, navigate towards Potsdamer Platz. From there, it's a short ride to Matthäikirchplatz.
