Getting there

Car

If you are driving, head towards the A48 motorway. Exit at the junction for 'Koblenz' and follow signs for B49 towards Moselkern. Continue on B49 for about 15 kilometers. After passing through Moselkern, follow the signs for Burg Eltz and turn onto the B259. Continue straight until you see the signage for Eltz Castle. There is a parking area near the castle entrance, from which you will need to walk about 1.2 kilometers to reach the castle itself.

To reach Eltz Castle using public transportation, start by taking a train to the town of Moselkern from Koblenz. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Moselkern, look for local bus services heading towards Eltz Castle. Bus number 300 operates frequently and will take you close to the castle entrance. Be sure to check the latest bus schedules online or at the train station to plan your trip accordingly. After getting off the bus, you will have a short walk of about 20 minutes to reach the castle.
