The site originally housed Lichtenberg Castle, a strategic stronghold that even served as the headquarters for the Duke of Alva during the Eighty Years' War.Though the castle fell into disrepair in the 18th century, a portion of the original fortified tower remains, offering visitors a glimpse into the past.
