Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start on the A61 motorway. Take exit 36 towards Cochem and follow the signs to Cochem (B49). Once in Cochem, continue along the B49 towards Beilstein. After approximately 10 minutes, you will arrive in Beilstein. Follow the local signs to Burg Metternich, which is located at Burg Metternich, 56814 Beilstein. There is a small parking area near the entrance, and parking is usually free.

  • Train and Bus

    For those using public transportation, take a train to Cochem from major cities such as Koblenz or Trier. Once you arrive at Cochem train station, exit and look for the bus stop outside the station. Take Bus 712 towards Beilstein. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. Get off at the Beilstein stop. From the bus stop, it’s a short 10-minute walk to Burg Metternich. Follow the signs leading you uphill to the castle.

    If you are already in Beilstein, Burg Metternich is a short walk from the village center. Head towards the Mosel River and look for signs leading uphill to the castle.
