Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Stuttgart Main Station (Hauptbahnhof), take the U-Bahn line U5, U6, U7, U8, or U15 towards either 'Leinfelden' or 'Häfnerhaslach'. Get off at the 'Schlossplatz' stop. Once you exit the station, head towards the large square in front of the New Palace (Neues Schloss). Walk through the square, and you will see the Altes Schloss (Old Castle) directly ahead. The History Museum Württemberg is located at Altes Schloss, Schillerpl. 6, 70173 Stuttgart.

  • Walking

    If you are in the city center, you can easily walk to the History Museum Württemberg. From the main shopping street, Königstraße, head towards Schlossplatz. Upon reaching Schlossplatz, you will see the New Palace (Neues Schloss) in front of you. The Altes Schloss (Old Castle), where the museum is located, is just to the side of the New Palace. Walk towards it, and you will find the entrance to the History Museum Württemberg at Schillerpl. 6.

  • Tram

    If you are near the Stuttgart City Library, you can take tram line U6 or U7 from 'Stadtbibliothek' tram stop. Board the tram heading towards 'Filderstadt' or 'Leinfelden'. Get off at 'Schlossplatz' tram stop, which is just one stop away. After exiting the tram, walk towards the large square. The Altes Schloss (Old Castle) is visible from the square. The History Museum Württemberg is situated at Schillerpl. 6, at the base of the Altes Schloss.
