Car
If you're traveling by car from Upper Palatinate to Neuschwanstein, start by heading south on the A93 from Regensburg. Continue onto the A92 towards Munich. From the A92, merge onto the A9 towards Nuremberg. After about 70 km, take exit 31-Munchen-Freimann, and follow signs for the A9 towards Nuremberg. Continue on the A9 to the A95 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Follow the A95 until you reach the B2 and then take the B17 towards Füssen. Follow the signs to Neuschwanstein Castle. The journey will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic conditions.
Public Transportation
To reach Neuschwanstein by public transport, first take a train from Regensburg Hauptbahnhof to Munich Hauptbahnhof. The journey takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. From Munich Hauptbahnhof, transfer to a train heading towards Füssen, which takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive at Füssen station, you can take bus line 73 or 78 towards Neuschwanstein (Hohenschwangau). The bus ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. The total travel time from Regensburg to Neuschwanstein can take around 4-5 hours.
