Walking
From the St. Goar Bahnhof (train station) or the KD boat dock, follow the signs towards the town center and then uphill towards Burg Rheinfels. The walk takes approximately 20 minutes and involves a moderately steep climb. The path is well-marked and offers scenic views of the town. Alternatively, from the St. Goar Rathaus (Town Hall), a signposted footpath leads directly to the castle. Note that the walk is uphill and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
Public Transport
From St. Goar Bahnhof/Fähre (train station/ferry terminal), take bus line 681 towards St. Goar Burg Rheinfels. The bus departs hourly and the journey takes approximately 8 minutes. A single ticket costs between €3-€5. The bus drops you off near the castle entrance, minimizing the uphill walk. Alternatively, during the summer months (May to October), the Burg-Rheinfels-Shuttle runs from St. Goar to the castle. Tickets can be purchased at the tourist office in St. Goar.
