Driving
If driving, navigate to Trechtingshausen via the B9. Look for signs directing you to Burg Rheinstein. Limited free parking is available along B9 at the base of the castle, with a 2-hour time limit enforced during peak season. From the parking area, a five- to ten-minute uphill walk on a switchback path leads to the castle entrance. Be aware that parking can be challenging during peak hours.
Public Transport
The nearest train station is Trechtingshausen. From the station, it's approximately a 25-minute walk to the castle along the road. Alternatively, a taxi from Trechtingshausen station to the castle will cost approximately €5-€7. Keep in mind that taxi availability may be limited, so it's advisable to book in advance if possible.
Walking
From Trechtingshausen, follow the signs leading up the hill to Rheinstein Castle. The walk from the village center takes about 20-30 minutes and involves a steep ascent. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes suitable for uphill walking. The footpath is located along Route B9 at the base of the castle.
