Car
From Afife, head east on the main road towards Mepe. Continue straight for about 7 kilometers until you reach the junction at Mepe. Turn left at the junction and follow the signs for Keta Lagoon Protected Area. After approximately 3 kilometers, you will see the entrance to the protected area on your right. Ensure you have some local currency as there is often a small entrance fee.
Public Transportation (Tro-Tro)
In Afife, locate the nearest tro-tro station and board a tro-tro heading to Mepe. The fare is typically around 1-2 GHS (Ghanaian Cedi). The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Mepe, ask the driver or locals for directions to Keta Lagoon Protected Area. From the drop-off point, you can either walk for about 3 kilometers or hire a local taxi for a small fee to reach the entrance of the lagoon.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Afife. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey; it should be around 20-30 GHS. The driver will take you directly to Keta Lagoon Protected Area, which is about 10 kilometers away. This option is more comfortable and will save you time.
