Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Ho, the capital of the Volta Region. Head northwest on the Ho-Accra Road (N1). After about 15 kilometers, take the exit towards Adaklu Helekpe. Follow the signs and continue on this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the base of Mount Adaklu. You can park your car at the designated parking area near the entrance to the hiking trail.
Public Transportation
To reach Mount Adaklu using public transport, take a trotro (shared minibus) from Ho to Adaklu Helekpe. These trotros frequently leave from the main station in Ho. The fare is usually around GHS 3-5. Once you arrive in Adaklu Helekpe, you may need to walk or hire a motorbike taxi (known as an okada) to take you closer to the entrance of the hiking trail. Expect to pay an additional GHS 5-10 for the bike ride.
Hiking
Once you arrive at the base of Mount Adaklu, you will need to hike to reach the summit. The hike can take approximately 1.5 to 3 hours depending on your fitness level. Ensure you have appropriate hiking shoes, water, and snacks. There is no entrance fee to access the hiking trail, but it is advisable to go with a guide, which may cost around GHS 20-30.
