Hi, I'm Eve. Here are a few practical things to know before exploring National Theatre.
Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey by heading towards Accra. The National Theatre is located on South Liberia Road in the Osu Klottey area of Accra. From central Ewe, take the main road toward Accra, following signs for the city center. Once you reach the city, look for signs directing you to Osu. Use a GPS device or a navigation app to guide you to the coordinates (5.5537413, -0.2005608). There is parking available near the theatre, but be prepared to pay a small fee for parking.
Public Transportation
For those opting for public transportation, first locate a trotro (shared minibus) station in Ewe. Board a trotro heading to Accra. Once you arrive at the central trotro station in Accra, ask for directions to the Osu area or look for a trotro that specifically goes to Osu. After reaching Osu, you can either walk or take a taxi to South Liberia Road. The National Theatre is a notable landmark, so most locals will be able to direct you. The trotro fare will typically range from 1 to 3 GHS, depending on your starting point.
Taxi
If you're looking for a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi. You can either book a taxi through an app or hail one directly on the street. Provide the driver with the address (South Liberia Road, Osu Klottey, Accra). This option is more comfortable but will be more expensive than public transport, costing approximately 15 to 30 GHS depending on traffic and distance.
Use National Theatre as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
