Getting There

  • Car

    From Kakum National Park, head southwest on the Esiama-Kakum Park Road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the junction at Esiama. Turn left onto the Esiama - Nkwanda Road and continue for approximately 25 kilometers. You will pass through Nkwanda, where you can stop for refreshments. Continue straight until you reach the entrance to Ankasa Game Reserve, which is well-marked. The total journey should take about 45 minutes to 1 hour by car, depending on traffic.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Ankasa Game Reserve from Kakum National Park via public transportation, first, take a shared taxi from Kakum Park to Esiama. This ride should cost around 2-5 GHS and take about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Esiama, you will need to find another shared taxi heading to Nkwanda. The fare for this leg is approximately 10-15 GHS and will take about 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive in Nkwanda, you can either walk or take a motorbike taxi to the entrance of Ankasa Game Reserve, which will cost about 5-10 GHS.
