Car
If you're driving from the Mole National Park area, begin your journey by heading southwest on the road leading out of the park. Continue on this road for approximately 35 kilometers (around 22 miles) until you reach the junction at the town of Damongo. From the junction, take the road that leads toward Pisie. Follow this road for about 15 kilometers (around 9 miles). The Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary will be on your left, marked by signs indicating the sanctuary entrance.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you will first need to get to Damongo. You can take a shared taxi or a bus from the nearest town or city to Mole National Park. Once you arrive in Damongo, look for a shared taxi or a local bus that heads toward Pisie. The taxi ride from Damongo to Pisie will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on road conditions. Inform the driver that you want to stop at the Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary. The sanctuary is a short distance from the main road, and the driver should be familiar with it.

Walking
If you are near the Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary and wish to walk, you can start from the center of Pisie village. Walk towards the signs indicating the sanctuary. The entrance is approximately 1-2 kilometers away from the village center. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the path can be uneven, and bring plenty of water, especially in the warm weather.
