Car
If you are driving from any location in the North East Region, head towards the nearest major road that connects to the N1 highway. Follow the N1 highway south towards Accra. After approximately 45 km, take the exit for Shai Hills Resource Reserve. The entrance to the reserve is well-marked, and you will find parking available. Note that there may be an entrance fee to access the reserve, so it's advisable to carry some cash.

Public Transportation (TroTro)
To reach Shai Hills Resource Reserve using public transport, locate the nearest 'TroTro' station in your area. Board a TroTro heading towards Accra. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Shai Hills stop. This journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Shai Hills stop, you can either walk to the reserve entrance (approximately 1 km) or negotiate with local motorbike taxis (Okadas) for a ride. Keep some cash handy for the fare and any entrance fees.

Motorbike Taxi (Okada)
If you are near the Shai Hills area and prefer a quicker option, you can hire a motorbike taxi (Okada) to take you directly to the reserve entrance. Simply flag down an Okada, negotiate the fare (usually around GHS 10-15), and enjoy the ride. Make sure to wear a helmet for safety.
