Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Ho, the capital of the Volta Region. Head north on the N1 highway towards Dapaong. After about 45 km, take the exit toward Likpe Bakwa. Follow the signs leading you to Likpe Bakwa. The final stretch will take you through a dirt road that may require a 4WD vehicle, so plan accordingly. Once you reach the village of Likpe Bakwa, ask locals for directions to Cascade de Yikpa, which is approximately 10 minutes from the village center.
Public Transportation
To reach Cascade de Yikpa using public transportation, first take a bus or shared taxi from Ho to the town of Likpe Bakwa. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Likpe Bakwa, you can either walk or hire a local guide with a motorcycle or tricycle to take you the remaining 10 minutes to the waterfall. Be prepared to negotiate fares, which typically range from 5 to 10 Ghanaian Cedis.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from Likpe Bakwa to Cascade de Yikpa, take the main road out of the village and follow the signs towards the waterfall. The walk is approximately 4 kilometers and will take around 1 hour. Enjoy the scenic views along the way, but wear comfortable shoes and be mindful of the terrain, as it can be uneven.
