Getting There

  • Walking

    From the entrance of Alameda Botanic Gardens, head south towards the main road, known as the 'Main Street'. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto 'Sir Herbert Miles Road'. Follow this road, which will lead you past the Gibraltar Museum on your left. Continue along this road until you reach the next roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto 'Wellington Front'. This road will lead you directly towards the base of the Rock of Gibraltar. As you approach the Rock, look for signs directing you to the entrance of the Gibraltar Nature Reserve, which is located at the northern base of the Rock. The entrance is easily identifiable and should take you approximately 20-30 minutes of walking from the gardens.

    From Alameda Botanic Gardens, walk to the nearest bus stop located on 'Sir Herbert Miles Road'. Take the number 2 bus heading towards 'Gibraltar Town'. After a short ride, disembark at the stop for 'The Rock Hotel'. From there, walk towards the main entrance of the Rock of Gibraltar, where you will find the entrance to the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. The bus ride takes about 5-10 minutes, and the walk from the bus stop to the reserve entrance will take an additional 10 minutes.
