    From the city center, the Moorish Castle is accessible by walking. Head north, following signs for the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. The walk is steep in places and takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Note that the castle is located within the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, so a Nature Reserve ticket is required for entry.

  • Public Transport

    The Gibraltar Bus Company operates Route 1, which stops near the Moorish Castle entrance. Take Route 1 to Willis's Road Terminus, the last stop in the upper town. From there, it is a short walk to the castle. A single ticket costs £1.80, and a return ticket is £2.50. A Hopper ticket, allowing unlimited travel for the day, is also available for £6.00.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available in Gibraltar and can take you directly to the Moorish Castle. Expect to pay around £13.60 for a 5km ride. An additional £20.00 surcharge applies for access to the Upper Rock. Taxis can be found at the airport terminal, the border crossing, and the main taxi rank in Grand Casemates Square.

  • Car

    If driving, navigate to the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. Limited parking is available near the castle. Note that non-resident vehicles are restricted within the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, except for Blue Badge holders. Parking at 2 Queensway Rd offers a location to park and then walk to the Nature Reserve. Parking costs vary.
