Constructed in 1732 and named after Princess Caroline, daughter of King George II, it offers a unique vantage point overlooking the Gibraltar airport runway, Spain, and the Bay of Gibraltar.In 1905, the battery was updated with a 6-inch Mark VII gun. Although decommissioned and the gun removed, the site remains a significant landmark. Today, the underground magazine serves as the Military Heritage Centre, which houses the Memorial Chamber.
