Corfu Aquarium, established in 2011, is located in Paleokastritsa, approximately 25 km northwest of Corfu Town. This family-run aquarium is dedicated to showcasing a diverse collection of marine life, reptiles, and amphibians, with a focus on the Mediterranean ecosystem. Many of the animals have been rescued by local fishermen and nursed back to health before finding a permanent home at the aquarium. Visitors can explore a variety of exhibits featuring local fish, crustaceans, and other sea creatures like seabass, cuttlefish, lobsters, hermit crabs, starfish, and even octopuses. Beyond marine life, the aquarium also houses reptiles and amphibians from around the globe, including snakes, turtles, lizards, chameleons, frogs, salamanders, and a large iguana. The aquarium offers guided tours in Greek and English, providing insights into the marine world. These tours typically last around 45 minutes and are included in the entry ticket. After the tour, visitors are welcome to explore the aquarium at their own pace. The facility is wheelchair accessible, ensuring all visitors can navigate the exhibits comfortably. Corfu Aquarium is open from March to November. It is located near Agios Petros Beach, allowing visitors to combine their aquarium visit with beachside relaxation.
