Getting There

• Bus

  If you are in the center of Heraklion, locate the local bus station (KTEL Heraklion). From there, take any bus that heads towards the Archaeological Museum. The museum is a well-known landmark, so you can ask the bus driver or check the route map on the bus for stops. Get off at the 'Archaeological Museum' stop. The museum is just a short walk from the bus stop; follow the signs or use a navigation app.

• Walking

  If you are already in the city center, you can easily walk to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum. Start from the central square (Platia Venizelou) and head towards the east along 1866 Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Chatzidaki Street. Turn left onto Chatzidaki Street and walk for about 200 meters. The museum will be on your right at Ξανθουδίδη και, Chatzidaki 1.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum. Simply flag down a taxi or use a ride-hailing app if available. Provide the driver with the address: Ξανθουδίδη και, Chatzidaki 1, Iraklio 712 02. Taxis are a convenient way to travel, especially if you are coming from a hotel or further away locations in the city.

• Bicycle

From there, cycle along 1866 Street and then turn left onto Chatzidaki Street. The museum is approximately a 10-minute bike ride from the center of town. Make sure to park your bike at designated bike racks near the museum.
