Bus
To reach Matala (Timpaki 702 00) from Heraklion, start at the Heraklion Central Bus Station (KTEL). Purchase a ticket for the bus heading to Mires. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Mires, transfer to a local bus heading to Matala. This second leg of the trip will take about 30 minutes. The bus will drop you off near the beach area of Matala, and from there, it's a short walk to the main attractions.
Bus
If you are in Rethymno, go to the Rethymno Bus Station (KTEL). Buy a ticket for the bus to Mires, which takes about 1 hour. After arriving in Mires, take the connection bus to Matala, which takes another 30 minutes. The bus will stop near the beach, and you can easily find your way to Timpaki 702 00 from there.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Crete. Simply ask your hotel or a local to help you call a taxi to Matala. Be sure to confirm the fare beforehand, as it may vary depending on your starting point. Taxi rides from Heraklion usually take around 1 hour, while rides from Rethymno take about 45 minutes.
Walking
If you are already in Matala, the area is quite walkable. From the bus stop, head directly towards the beach. Keep the sea on your right, and follow the road along the coastline. Timpaki 702 00 is located close to the beach area, and you will see signs directing you to various attractions in Matala.
