Bus
From the center of Heraklion, head to the central bus station located at 1st October Street. Look for the bus that goes to Archanes, which is typically marked with signs indicating its destination. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Archanes, disembark at the main square. From there, you can ask locals for directions to Mount Juktas, which is well-known in the area.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to enjoy a scenic walk, you can walk to Mount Juktas from Heraklion. Start at the central square, known as Eleftherias Square. Head southwest along 1st October Street, then turn left onto K. Karamanli Street. Continue straight until you reach the outskirts of Heraklion. Follow the signs leading to Archanes, which will take you through beautiful vineyards and olive groves. The walk will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace.
Taxi
For a more comfortable and quicker option, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Heraklion to Mount Juktas. Simply flag down a taxi or use a local taxi app. Inform the driver that you want to go to Mount Juktas in Archanes. The journey will take approximately 20 minutes, depending on traffic, and the fare should be around 15-20 euros.
