    Getting There

    Walking

    If you are in the center of Heraklion, start at the famous Lion Square (Plateia Liontaria). From Lion Square, head towards the street 'Venizelou' and follow it until you reach the intersection with the street 'Korai'. Turn left onto Korai Street. Continue straight until you reach the waterfront promenade. Once you reach the promenade, turn right and walk along the waterfront. You will soon see the Rocca a Mare Fortress (Koules) on your right, right by the sea.

    Public Bus

    At the central bus station in Heraklion, look for the local bus lines that head towards the port area. You can take Bus Line 1 or 2. Board the bus and get off at the stop named 'Koules' or 'Port'. From the bus stop, walk towards the water and you will see the Rocca a Mare Fortress directly ahead.

    Taxi

    If you prefer a taxi, you can find one at designated taxi stands throughout Heraklion or use a taxi app. Simply tell the driver 'Koules' or 'Rocca a Mare Fortress'. The driver will take you directly to the entrance of the fortress, which is located near the waterfront.
