    The Misios Mansion, located on Asopiou Street in Ioannina, offers visitors a unique glimpse into the city's rich history and architectural heritage. Built in 1844 by architect Nikolaos Pantazis, also known as Liolis, for the Misios family, one of the oldest and most important families of Epirus, the mansion exemplifies 19th-century urban design. The building's architecture features a Π-shaped floor plan, with two stories, a barrel-vaulted basement, and mezzanines.Throughout its history, the Misios Mansion has played a significant role in Ioannina's social and cultural life. The Misios family, being wealthy benefactors, hosted royalty and supported numerous charitable projects, making the mansion a social center in the 20th century. From 1949 to 1955, it housed the Reconstruction Service of the Ministry of Public Works. In 1989, the Greek State acquired the property.Today, the ground floor of the Misios Mansion serves as a Permanent Exhibition Gallery, displaying important aspects of Ioannina's urban life and society. The upper floors house the Service of Modern Monuments and Technical Works of Epirus, North Ionian, and Western Macedonia. Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing the Misios family's history, traditional costumes, and aspects of daily life in 19th-century Ioannina.
