Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the main port of Kos Town, head south towards the waterfront promenade. Walk along the promenade until you reach the intersection with the main road, 'Vasileos Georgiou'. Turn right onto this road and continue straight. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the intersection with 'Agiou Nikolaou'. Turn left here. Follow this road, which will lead you through the town. Look for signs pointing towards the Ancient Temple of Athena or 'Αρχαίος Ναός Αθηνάς'. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, you will see the entrance to the site on your right.

  • Public Transport

    From the central bus station in Kos Town, take the local bus heading towards 'Zia'. Inform the driver that you want to stop at the nearest point to the Ancient Temple of Athena. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive, get off the bus and walk towards the direction indicated by the signs for the Ancient Temple of Athena. It is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.

    Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Kos Town. Head out from the rental shop towards the waterfront and follow the bike path along the coast. Continue cycling until you reach 'Vasileos Georgiou' and turn right. Follow this road for about 3 kilometers, then turn left at 'Agiou Nikolaou' and continue for another 2 kilometers until you see signs for the Ancient Temple of Athena.
