Getting There

• Car

  If you are travelling by car, make your way to Serres, which is located in the northern part of Greece. From Thessaloniki, take the E92 highway towards Serres. The drive takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you reach Serres, follow the signs for the city center. Upon entering the city, navigate to Konstantinoupoleos Street. The Sarakatsani Folklore Museum is located at Konstantinoupoleos 62, Serres 621 22. There is street parking available nearby, but be sure to check for any parking restrictions to avoid fines.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach the Sarakatsani Folklore Museum via public transportation, you can take a bus from Thessaloniki to Serres. Buses frequently depart from the KTEL Macedonia bus station in Thessaloniki and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Serres bus station, you can either walk or take a taxi to the museum. The museum is approximately 1.5 km from the bus station, which is about a 20-minute walk. Head south on 19th May Street, then turn right onto Konstantinoupoleos Street, and continue until you reach the museum at number 62.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from the Serres bus station to the Sarakatsani Folklore Museum. The taxi ride will take approximately 5-10 minutes and should cost around €5-€10, depending on traffic and time of day.
