Bus
From Meteora, head to the Kalambaka bus station, which is located near the main square. Buses to Sofades, where Lake Smokovou is located, operate several times a day. Purchase a ticket for Sofades from the ticket counter. Once you board the bus, enjoy the scenic ride through the Thessalian plains. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Make sure to inform the driver that you need to get off at Sofades, as this is a small stop.
Walking
Once you arrive at Sofades, exit the bus and head towards the main street (Odos Sofadon). Walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection. At the intersection, take a left onto a smaller road (Odos Vasilikou). Continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the direction to Lake Smokovou. The road will lead you through rural areas with beautiful views. After about 30 minutes of walking, you will reach Lake Smokovou.
