Walking
If you are in Kalambaka, start at the Kalambaka Train Station. From the station, head south on Trikalon Street towards the town center. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach the square in front of the Church of the Assumption of Mary (Iera Moni). From the square, take the road leading to the Meteora cliffs, which will be visible in the distance. Follow the road signs for Meteora as you walk, and after about 30 minutes, you will reach the entrance to the Meteora site, where you can begin exploring the monasteries.
Bus
From Kalambaka, you can take a local bus to Meteora. Head to the Kalambaka Bus Station, which is a short walk from the town center. Look for the bus that is labeled for Meteora or the monasteries. The journey typically takes around 10-15 minutes. The bus will drop you off near the visitor center and the footpath leading to the monasteries. Make sure to check the bus schedule for return trips.
Bicycle
If you enjoy cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Kalambaka. Start from the town center and follow the same route as if walking to Meteora. There are bike paths available, and you can ride towards the cliffs. It will take approximately 20 minutes to reach the entrance to Meteora. Be sure to adhere to local traffic regulations and be cautious of pedestrians.
