Walking
Starting from the center of Kalabaka, locate the main square (Plateia 28is Oktovriou). Walk towards the main street, Trikalon Street. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Meteora. Turn left onto this road. Follow the path that leads up the hill, which is well-marked with signs for 'Meteora.' After about 15-20 minutes of walking, you will reach a viewpoint overlooking the Meteora rock formations. This viewpoint is known for its breathtaking views and is a popular spot for photographs.
Hiking
For a more adventurous route, you can hike from the Kalabaka town center. Begin at the old railway station, which is near the town center. Follow the path that leads to the hiking trail marked for Meteora. This route will take you through beautiful landscapes and offer various viewpoints along the way. The hike will take approximately 1-1.5 hours, depending on your pace. Be sure to stay on the marked trails and enjoy the stunning views as you ascend towards the Meteora viewpoint.
