Getting There

  • Car

    From Ouranoupoli, drive towards the border of Mount Athos. Obtain a special permit (€25) at the entrance. Continue following the scenic roads towards the monasteries; signs will lead you to the viewpoint. The drive takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

  • Public Transport

    Take a bus from Thessaloniki to Ouranoupoli (approximately 2.5 hours, €15). From Ouranoupoli, rent a car or take a taxi to the entrance of Mount Athos to obtain your permit (€25). Then, drive or hire a taxi to the viewpoint, following the signs towards the monasteries.

  • Walking

    If already within Mount Athos, start from the nearest monastery or settlement. Follow marked trails towards the viewpoint. Trails can be steep and may take several hours; wear sturdy footwear and carry water. A map or guide is recommended.
