Getting There

Walking

From the center of Mykonos Town (Chora), most attractions are easily accessible on foot. The town is a pedestrian-friendly zone with narrow, winding streets. Landmarks like Little Venice, the windmills, and the Paraportiani Church are within a 10-15 minute walk of each other. Be aware that the cobblestone streets can be slippery, so wear comfortable shoes.
Public Transport

Mykonos has a bus network (KTEL) that connects Mykonos Town with various beaches and other locations on the island. There are two main bus stations in Mykonos Town: Fabrika and the Old Port. From Fabrika, buses run to the southern beaches like Platis Gialos, Paraga, and Paradise. From the Old Port, buses serve the New Port and other destinations. Tickets can be purchased directly from the bus driver for approximately €2. Keep in mind that buses can be crowded during peak season.
Taxi

Taxis are available in Mykonos Town, with taxi stands located near Manto Mavrogenous Square and Fabrika Square. However, taxis can be scarce, especially during the high season. A short taxi ride within Mykonos Town or to a nearby beach can cost between €6 and €10. Expect to pay more during nighttime hours (00:00 to 05:00), when the price per kilometer increases. There are surcharges for airport or port rides (€1.07-€4) and luggage heavier than 10kg (€0.40 per piece). Consider pre-booking a taxi or private transfer to ensure availability and fixed fares.
Ferry

To reach Mykonos from Athens (Piraeus or Rafina) or other islands, ferries arrive at the New Port (Tourlos). From the New Port, you can take the Sea Bus, a small passenger ferry, to the Old Port in Mykonos Town for €2. Alternatively, a local bus connects the New Port to Fabrika and the Old Port. Taxis are also available, but can be difficult to find during peak hours. Ferry tickets from Athens to Mykonos range from €38 to €105, depending on the ferry type and company. A ferry from Mykonos to Santorini ranges from €74 to €156.
