Walking
If you are in the center of Rethymno, head towards the waterfront area. Walk along the beach promenade until you reach the old harbor area. From the harbor, continue walking along the waterfront towards the west. You'll see the Firka Venetian Fortress on your right, situated at Akti Kountourioti. It's about a 20-minute walk from the center of Rethymno.
Public Transport
From the central bus station in Rethymno, take the local bus heading towards Chania. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Chania, ask the driver to drop you off near the old harbor. From there, you can easily walk to Firka Venetian Fortress by following the waterfront promenade along Akti Kountourioti, which is about a 10-minute walk.
Taxi
You can take a taxi from anywhere in Rethymno to the Firka Venetian Fortress. Simply tell the driver to take you to Akti Kountourioti in Chania. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic. This is a convenient option if you are carrying luggage or prefer not to walk.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Rethymno. Head towards the beach and follow the coastline towards Chania. The ride will take around 30 minutes. As you approach Chania, look for signs directing you to the old harbor area. The Firka Venetian Fortress will be visible as you get closer.
