    Getting There

    Public Transport

    From the central bus station in Rhodes Town, take bus number 3, 6, 19, 33 or 40 towards Rodini Park. The bus will drop you off at a stop close to the park. From the bus stop, walk a short distance (approximately 200 meters) to the entrance of the park at Lindou 211. Bus tickets cost approximately €1 - €2.

    Taxis are readily available throughout Rhodes Town. A taxi from the center of Rhodes Town to Rodini Park takes only a few minutes. The typical fare for this short trip is around €3 - €5.

    Walking

    From the Old Town of Rhodes, exit through the D'Amboise Gate and head straight along the coastal promenade. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Ippokratous Street. Turn left onto Ippokratous Street and walk until you reach the traffic lights. Cross the road and continue straight ahead. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, look for signs pointing to Rodini Park on your right. Follow the signs, and you will find the entrance to the park at Lindou 211. The walk is approximately 3 kilometers and takes around 40 minutes.

    Rodini Park, located just 3 kilometers south of Rhodes Town, is a captivating escape renowned for its natural beauty and historical significance. Often cited as one of the first landscaped parks in the world, its origins trace back to the Hellenistic period. The Romans favored the park, constructing an aqueduct, remnants of which can still be seen.The park's design follows the natural contours of a stream, creating a cool, tranquil environment with dense canopies of plane trees, oleanders, and pines. Wooden bridges connect the stream's banks, offering scenic views. The park is home to diverse wildlife, including ducks, geese, peacocks, and Dama-Dama deer, a species native to Rhodes.Rodini Park also holds historical importance. It is believed that the famous school of rhetoric of Aeschines was located here, with notable figures like Julius Caesar and Cicero attending. At the end of the pathway, there is an archaic tomb which is believed to be the tomb of Ptolemies. The park also features the remains of a Roman aqueduct.Today, Rodini Park serves as a public green space, offering a serene escape from the city. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls, picnics, and the beauty of nature.
