From Samaria Gorge, drive towards Hora Sfakion. Follow the signs for E4 and continue on this road until you reach Hora Sfakion. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic. Once in Hora Sfakion, look for signs to forest Kormokopou. The forest entrance is located just outside the village, and you can park your car in designated areas nearby.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Chania to Hora Sfakion. Buses run regularly, but check the schedule ahead of time to ensure you catch one that fits your itinerary. The bus ride takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Hora Sfakion, you can either walk to forest Kormokopou, which is about a 20-minute walk from the bus station, or you can hire a local taxi for a short drive to the entrance of the forest.

If you are already in Samaria Gorge and looking to trek to forest Kormokopou on foot, you will need to exit the gorge and make your way to Hora Sfakion first. This is a significant hike and should only be attempted if you are in good physical condition. From the gorge exit, head towards the village of Agia Roumeli and then follow the coastal path to Hora Sfakion. Once you arrive in Hora Sfakion, follow the directions above to reach the forest.
